Testing the Waters

This was the presentation that got us started again, more than two decades after the first UPA Tribute at Filmex.  Although, only about a dozen students attended the hour-long program of UPA films, followed by a Q & A, and only Tee Bosustow was there to answer some very fine questions from the small audience, it was the beginning of breathing life back into the idea of making a documentary on UPA Pictures.

It was held at Woodbury University, in Burbank, California, and little did we know at the time that Woodbury would be the location for three AniMazSpot festivals, 2010, 2011, and 2012, where we highlighted UPA and the documentary each of those years, and it was also the location of a summer production program on the UPA documentary in June, 2014.  So, Woodbury’s Animation department has been one of the prime movers of our documentary progress.
